China fest features Iran great director

Hainan Film Festival dubbed “China's Biggest New Cinema Event” hosts Iran great director and Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi.

Held on the tropical resort island this year, Hainan festival hosted Asghar Farhadi and American actor/director Ethan Hawke.

Hainan Film Festival advisor, Roger Garcia ,said to media feature appearances including that of Farhadi can be “an important facet of the festival.” 

The 2nd Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) is slated for December 1-8, 2019.

As one of Hainan's first series of projects in building itself into a pilot free trade zone and free trade port, the festival aims to build a platform for communication, cooperation, and trade in the international film industry.
